WHY YOU CAN NEVER MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT A WRITTEN BUDGET
Your income doesn’t matter, your age doesn’t matter, your race doesn’t matter! The only thing that is holding you back is math! This is why you cannot move forward without a written budget. a game plan for your money and your money goals!
When we don’t bother to do the math before we do the spending we do ourselves the biggest disservice.
“Adults devise a plan and stick to it, children do what feels good.” -Dave Ramsey
Being broke is a mentality. It’s a way of thinking about money. When broke people say they think they can afford something they are saying to themselves they “hope” they can afford the payments that their purchase will bring. Being continuously broke is a result of the belief that we must have what we want when we want it.
It is also a lack of being able to sit down and figure out your life. If you don’t want to be broke anymore you need to sit down and figure out what you bring in, and what is going out. You must look at your situation before you decide rather than after. It doesn’t take a financial degree to create a budget!
Why Is a Written Budget So Important?
When you do a written budget and every dollar has a purpose before the month begins it is the directive for your month. When nothing is spent without consolation, and rearranging the budget to fit the amount spent, you will literally change your marriage in a good way, you will add a level of communication that only the best marriages have. Most fights in marriage are about money!
Having a written budget is one of the ways we managed to cut our grocery bill in half each month!
You will get the stress off your back with a budget. It is the unknown of where the money is going that causes the greatest amount of stress. No matter how much you don’t want to do it, no matter how repulsive and annoying it may seem to sit down and write it all down, it is literally the ONLY way to get your finances in order enough to start managing it properly and start moving forward.
Once you start working on your written budget you will actually feel like you got a raise! A clear written plan and contract between you and your spouse will guarantee that your dreams will become goals, which in turn become a dependable future.
John Maxwell- “A budget is people telling their money what to do instead of wondering where it went”.
Even if you write it all down and realize that one thing that you have been dredging so horribly comes true, that you don’t make enough money to make ends meet at the end of the month, you now have a visual of what you NEED to do. Is that get another job? Is that selling things? Is it to get rid of something so completely unnecessary in your spending? Do you really need all those magazines subscriptions? Do you still NEED to go to the mall?
Financial Freedom didn’t always used to be so taboo. Before the year 1950 and the creation of credit, financial freedom was a norm. People lived within the means of their income. They saved cold hard cash. They used and reused everything they owned. They fixed what was broken, the cooked from scratch, they truly appreciated the things that they had. Today we live in a society that not only throws away the most reusable things but refuses to appreciate anything they own. They would rather spend money on new, to feel good, than to save what they spend their lives working for.
There is so much information out there about budgeting. Why you need it, what it is, how to start, on and on and on. But it all always boils down to you choosing to be an adult and choosing the hard road, the one that will get you the results that the other people aren’t willing to sacrifice to achieve.
It takes dedication to the written budget and continually going back and making changes as needed.
By purchasing stuff we do not need, and can’t afford we penalize ourselves every time. Either by wasting our money or using someone else’s, we cause a lifetime of stress and struggle. By doing simple 4th grade math, writing it all down and using self-discipline, you will start to instantly see results in your finances
You Start with a written plan; your budget!
I wish you all the success and happiness in your everyday life!
