Determine Your Skin Type
First things first Determine your skin type. Is it oily, dry, combination? You can’t do anything till you figure out which one you are.
To figure out your skin type simply:
- Take a clean cotton pad, ball, or cloth.
- Blot your face. Your forehead, chin, and side of nose
- Holding the wipe up to the light determine if there is oil on it. If there is, you most likely have oily skin. If there are no visible oils, you have normal/combination.
Now that you have determined your skin type, you can invest in a facewash specific to your type. However, a warm wash cloth with a natural toner (such as 1 part apple cider vinegar to 1 part water) and moisturizer of choice is the healthiest and most frugal way to go.
When moisturizing always massage your skin in circular motions. Taking care to never to pull the skin under your eyes or throat.
Eat More Citrus.
Lemons, oranges and, grapefruit contain vitamin C which may help in preventing wrinkles, but that’s not all! They also detox the liver and kidneys. There is a clear connection between healthy organs and beautiful flawless skin.
Working out and getting your blood pumping gets oxygen to all your blood vessels. Bringing that color and glow again to our pretty little cheeks.
7. Drink More Water.
Drinking enough water in the day can be difficult at times, but your skin, hair, and nails will thank you right along with your waist line if you keep up with this one! So, put down the coffee, refrain from that 3rd coke, and grab a water! You will thank yourself in the morning when you are putting on your make up!
At home facials!
Fun right! Doing an at home facial at least once a week will greatly help in regulating the dirt, oils, and stress your skin endures every day.
While you’re at that facial might as well grab a soft sugar exfoliator. Be sure to rub in soft circular motions and avoid the under eyes on this one! But don’t forget your lips!
Wear less make-up.
Sounds weird right? But wearing less pore clogging, toxic make-up can clear up blemishes and imperfections. Add a touch of powder and some concealer under the eyes and your good to go! El Naturel is all the rage right now!
Wine and Chocolate!
I know I know, what? Wine and chocolate? Yes! There is no proof that chocolate causes acne. Both red wine and dark chocolate are packed with antioxidants, which is great for the skin. Protecting it from free radicals! So indulge a little!
Organic Coconut Oil.
Moisturize with a small dab of organic coconut oil from time to time, or before applying your morning make-up. You can even add some essential oils for a luxurious lotion.
Clear Your Eyes.
A super great secret to helping your skin look more flawless is helping your eyes sparkle more. By helping your eyes look less tired and dried out your whole face looks brighter and more lifted. Add a couple drops of Visine right before you put on your make-up. It will do a world of difference.
